Apple Pie Order is a jaw dropping show stopper! The Burlesque Queen titters in between. She heightens and lightens each scene and moves it along... but you decide what is right or what is wrong!

A dark humorous tale unfolds as 4 characters perform to the tune of a perpetrator. It's not just a fairy tale; it's a hairy Mary scary tale of power and control.

Written By: Elaine Pantling

Directed By: Isabel Ford

‘Elaine’s charm, natural warmth, sensitivity and understanding makes Apple Pie Order a show which touches you directly.  The subject matter is one which in the wrong hands could be handled crassly and without humour but Elaine allows the piece to be dramatic and real while using humour to relieve the pain and heart ache of the characters involved.

Apple Pie Order opens up so many cans of worms; yet Elaine manages those worms and enables her audience and DV survivors to explore and delve into issues that ordinarily they may find uncomfortable and

    shy from.

The women who participated in the event at The Brindley were new to drama yet through Elaine’s

engaging skills they readily explored, shared and improvised as a group.  The atmosphere

was one of survival, of strength to overcome adversity and determination to address the

abuse head on and with honesty.’

Claire Bigley Drama & Literature Development Officer, The Brindley, Runcorn.
